YIMBY Hampton Roads is proud to support Jeremy McGee for Norfolk City Council, Superward 6. Jeremy has much experience with Norfolk’s housing policies as a member of Norfolk’s Architectural Review Board and Planning Commission. As a business owner, he has seen first-hand how our planning and zoning policies stifle growth and economic development in our community. Jeremy is a proponent of common-sense zoning reform, by-right Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), and reducing burdensome permitting and plan review policies. We look forward to working with future Councilman McGee to create an affordable, liveable city for all members of our community.

YIMBY Hampton Roads is excited to announce our support of Carlos J. Clanton for Norfolk City Council, Superward 7. Carlos is a Norfolk native who believes passionately that all members of our community deserve a safe and affordable home. Carlos has an impressive track record, having served in leadership roles on the School Board of the City of Norfolk, the Urban League of Hampton Roads, and the Hampton Roads Community Action Program. Carlos believes in a multifaceted solution to our community’s housing shortage and supports ending exclusionary zoning, Faith in Housing (SB233), and mixed-use redevelopment of underutilized land. We are also impressed with Carlos’s commitment to combat our region’s brain drain and reducing the cost of housing by advocating for policies that promote diverse and affordable housing options, such as legalizing Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and reducing minimum lot size requirements. We look forward to working with future Councilman Clanton to create a more equitable and accessible housing market in Norfolk.
